Can the folding door frame be supplied in separate parts for on-site assembly?
If your project requires it, we can certainly supply the folding door frame in separate parts for assembly directly on-site. However, we are also able to transport completely pre-assembled frames with loose door leaves up to a maximum size of 8.1 metres wide and 2.5 metres high. Whenever possible, we highly recommend choosing the pre-assembled delivery option to ensure the highest standard of structural integrity and ease of installation.
Can you deliver the door leaves loose as I'm worried about the weight?
Yes, all our bi-fold doors with more than two door leaves are supplied loose of the frame. To ensure everything arrives safely and stays together, all necessary fittings are securely strapped to the frame on delivery. This makes handling and lifting much easier on-site.
Is an inward opening bi-fold door option available?
We do not currently offer an opening-in system on our folding doors.
Which part of the frame carries the load?
Our folding doors are top hung, which means the head of the frame carries the full load of the system. Because of this design, proper structural support must be factored into your project.
Any required structural support needs to be calculated by a qualified structural engineer, who will base their assessments on the specific weight of the doors. You can easily find the exact weight details for your system listed directly in our project quotations and sales confirmations.
Can I have a fanlight above a bi-folding door?
Yes, you can integrate a fanlight above your bi-folding door. However, because our folding door systems are top hung, you must ensure that sufficient structural support is factored in and provided directly between the folding door frame and the fanlight window.
